Visit the beautiful old town along the Elbe river with this private tour of Meissen. You'll have an exclusive English-speaking guide just for you and your partner, family and friends.
At the time of your choice, we'll meet at the centrally located Markt, the beautiful Meissen Market Square. The tour will start by admiring the iconic facade in Saxony.
Among the main architectural treasures of the old town is the Meissen Cathedral. We'll visit the imposing Gothic facade of this temple dedicated to St. John and St. Donatus. The guide will also reveal interesting facts about the town's history during the tour.
We'll continue to wander through Meissen next to the Albrechtsburg castle, a true icon of central Germany. The privileged location of this fortress, on a hill over the river Elbe, has aroused the interest of numerous nobles. We'll learn about the castle's past as we walk through the gardens parallel to its thick walls.
The next stop will be the Church of Our Lady, another of the essential temples for understanding Meissen's past and present. Finally, after a 1.5 to 2-hour visit, the private tour will end in the historic centre.
